I’m passionate about using quality seasonal British flowers and I love to use my own homegrown Buckinghamshire blooms as far as possible. I’m delighted to see that British Flowers are experiencing a real resurgence and it’s incredibly exciting to be part of it. There’s something hugely satisfying about knowing that the flowers in a bridal bouquet or in the vase on the kitchen table have been grown locally, ethically and have provided sustainable habitats for bees, ladybirds, hedgehogs, frogs, and our other garden friends.
2016 saw me take my first serious steps into growing my own flowers for my work. I’ve started with some much loved classics – cornflowers, peonies, nigella and fragrant sweetpeas were among last summer’s home grown blooms. Looking ahead to this year, I’m tripling the space I have available for growing and investing in a new greenhouse to allow me to extend my growing season. Am I excited? You bet!!
Growing your own flowers is challenging-elating-thrilling-fun….all at once!! I love to talk about it but there’s far too much to tell you on this page. You can keep up to date with my floral adventures (and some flowery memories aswell) on my blog.
